‘‘"I learned a long time ago why God gave me two ears and just one mouth. The more time I spend listening to you with my ears the smarter I am. I am not going to tell you what to do.

After I completely understand what you want, I would like to be your consultant to figure out how best to get you what you want. I will be very careful and gentle, I don't want to hurt you in any way. After we are finished with your project I want you to be able to give me two thumbs up, maybe even a big hug and say, "I got exactly what I wanted!"

Connecting with Patients & Perfecting Smiles

Changing lives for over four decades.

A Houston native, Dr. Mitchmore grew up as part of a big family in the old East End. As a youngster, he met a Methodist minister who took him under his wing and sparked his interest in helping people. Although he started his studies as a minister, Dr. Mitchmore soon switched his focus to dentistry (inspired by his uncle who was a dentist) and loved it! He found he could help people and enjoy the sciences too, so he put himself through dental school while working in hospital labs.

Working the labs really helped Dr. Mitchmore pursue dentistry that makes people more comfortable and reduces fear. His medical knowledge led him to identify the importance of sedation and how it can improve a patient’s overall experience. Our Houston dentist is one of just a few in the area who are licensed and certified in IV sedation. This helps our patients feel relaxed and eases dental anxiety.

Dr. Mitchmore is a life-long student and is fascinated by advancements in dental technology. He continues to pursue new methods to improve your health in the most comfortable and efficient fashion possible. Since becoming a dentist, Dr. Mitchmore has thoroughly enjoyed developing friendships with his team and patients. He loves to listen and see patients get exactly what they want out of their dental visit. He is a truly patient-first dentist with a caring and compassionate style.

Hobbies and Recreation

There truly is a blurry line between work and play for me. I'm fortunate to love what I do and this spills into my personal life. I have written and contributed to books and journals and have a consulting arm called LifeSmiles University. Dentists and teams travel to learn how we do my version of dentistry. Away from dentistry, I ride my bicycle, like to go traveling, scuba dive, enjoy gardening, and eat at amazing restaurants.

Who Is Your Hero?

Winston Churchill was inspirational as a leader in a very dangerous dark time during a war with impossible odds. He inspired people to never give up with his mastery of the English language. Also, Mark Twain and Will Rogers changed our views of the world with a witty and biting sense of humor.

Best Day of Your Life

For many weeks I would check the mailboxes in the Southwestern University Student Union Building. I did it a couple of times a day. Finally an envelope was there. It was my letter inviting me to an interview to be accepted to Dental School.

What Flavor Ice Cream Would You Be?

Vanilla. For the same reason I don't have any tattoos - yet? I can change my mind and turn vanilla into most anything I want depending on my mood or wants at the time.

He has the ability to change someone's teeth like you would see on a TV makeover show. His staff is so friendly and non-judgemental that you feel extremely comfortable any time that you go to the dentist.
